Biography

ROGER KEITH WHEELER Roger was born in Ilford Essex UK and started playing guitar at the age of 11.
He was born to the rock and blues music of the 60's and was greatlly influenced by the likes of Eric Clapton's "Cream" and Peter Green's "Fleetwood Mac" and of course Jimmy Hendrix.
At the age of 18 Roger was fortunate enough to find himself in a band that opened up for both Cream and Peter Green, memories which are solidly implanted for life.

Roger hit the road at 21 in a professional capacity as the guitarist for Solomon King an American gospel singer in the same league as Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck featured on TV and Radio.
In 1974 Roger had his first single record release on Decca Records in the band "Sweet Reason" Continuing his journey through the 70's and 80's Roger had his 2nd record release in 1980 with a band named "Licks".

In 1982 Roger moved to the USA and has played and taught guitar still writing music and recording CD's which are available on this website.

"BLACKVELVET" 1995 saw the birth of "BlackVelvet" a Rock Duo featuring Christy McKinnon on vocals/keyboards.
Together they wrote the CD "Recollections" which was released in 2002 and you can view more in depth details on their website.
